About
Season 06. MycolographAdaptation
A production opera recorded in the field during a single day at farming utopia, an urban farm.
Mushrooms moved from the forest to the city find themselves in an unfamiliar habitat. Humans in alliance with technology help them to adapt. The lead roles are played by machines: sterilizers, concrete mixers, laminar flow hoods. They are supported by the sounds of laboratory work with mycelium: the hissing of agar when a red-hot scalpel is plunged into it, the falling of packing boxes, the rustle of grain scattered on the floor, the clatter of thermo-printed labels, the sound of courier calls.
