Season 06 explores the image of mycelium, which has captured popular culture and contemporary art.

Mycelium germinates in speculative theories, anthropological research, autofiction, and art projects. During political and ecological crises theorists call on the world to think with mushrooms; to learn about diversity, adaptability, and precarity from them. Artists study the networked, assemblage structure of mycelium and extract music from its fruiting bodies.

The participants in the sixth season of Station Radio—independent musicians and mushroom enthusiasts—offer their own versions of «silent hunting,» from a production opera about a mushroom farm to a rap musical about a rebellion against humans.

This season grows out of and borrows its name from Konstantin Stavrov’s eponymous project, which is supported by Garage Field Research.

The second part of the season will be presented in June.
