Sergey Kuryokhin’s New Year Dream

Kasia Ekstovich

A mix compiled from archive tape recordings and materials in the Sergey Chubraev Archive, which includes important artifacts from Sergey Kuryokhin’s most creative period.

One day I noticed huge trash can full of cassettes. I got Sergey Kuryokhin’s cassettes from there. That’s how they ended up in my collection of tape recordings which even before that included a lot of music by artists who played on the same avant-garde scene as The Captain [Kuryokhin]. For Station Radio I recorded a cassette called «Sergey Kuryokhin’s New Year Dream,» which includes cassette
recordings from my collection, archive interviews with Kuryokhin, and his film music. The cassette was digitized and donated to Garage Archive Collection.
