Season 05. ScoresAtemporal
Sound artist Igor Dyachenko has sonified data from the website of the Russian Art Archive Network to create an art work
Transforming archive data from the RAAN online catalogue into a multi-layered, constantly changing soundscape, the project questions the static nature of the archive, offering its own reading through acoustic resonances and distortions, endowing «cold» data with pitch and duration, and letting it manifest its emotional dimension.
About the Artist
Igor Dyachenko is an experimental sound artist and composer. His practice is based on the concept of “molten reality,” in which sound takes on hybrid forms, interacting with the space and the listener. Exploring spatial and acoustic environments, he creates emotional sound forms. He is the founder of the studio Epic Room, which develops generative sound systems for architecture and multimedia projects. His albums, film soundtracks, and audio installations have been featured at international festivals and galleries, including The Calvert Journal Film Festival (Amsterdam), Les Rencontres d’Arles (Paris), Studio Voltaire (London) and Sandberg Instituut (Amsterdam).
